To share files with other computers without using e-mail is very easy. Make sure following hardware are there, you must be connected with two windows PCs in a wired or wireless connection. Keep turned on on the PCs security/firewalls.
Now first create a shared folder on your windows XP desktop. To configure file and folder sharing in Windows Xp, you need to be logged on as the asministrator. Roght click on the Start button and if you can see ‘open all users‘ than you logged in as asministrator.
To share the contents of your MyVideos folder, open your MyDocuments folder, right-click on the MyVideos folder, and then select sharing and security from the drop-down menu.
Now check the box next to share this folder on the network. If you want other users to be able to edit files on your computer, check the box below Allow network users to change my files. or click the permissions button to allowed the option. If you want only some files to share, right-click the desktop and select new/folder. Copy or move files to this folder and than complete the steps as i said earlier to share the folder.
If you want to see in which folder i had shared, look at the folder icon, if you see a hand holding the folder, it’s a shared folder. To access files on a second PC, got to My Computer >My Network Places. Under Local Network, see the name of the other PC. It’s icon will feature on an open folder with a document hanging out. Double-click the icon to see the shared folders.
Remember while sharing folders, tighteen security on both PCs. Do these things go to Control panel>Security Center>Windows Firewall and turn on the firewall.
