Podcasts are digital audio recordings which can contain commentary and/or music, and are distributed across the Internet as downloadable MP3 files.
The popularity of Podcasts grew, similar to blogs from enthusiastic people who just wanted to have their voices heard by others. However, as the technology as become more adopted by mainstream media, you can now find podcasts from HBO, ESPN and VH1. Now some of your favorite program on television may be available as a prodcast. Podcasts are compatible with all MP3 players and PCs, since they’re encoded in the widely compatible MP3 format.
Create Your Own Podcast: Things you need to have while creating your own podcast:
A Computer (PC)
A headset with a microphone (use high quality model to make your recordings more professional )
A MP3 voice recorder
and some audio recording/podcasting software such as iPodcast or audacity.
Here are some of the tips on how to develop your Podcast:
- First of all on what topic you would like to Podcast about? It could be your social views, public interviews, or a live show report, or Podcasting about recipes, However before you pick up the microphone, you should do some planning, especially if your not good as a radio jockey or sports commentator.
- Do one thing listen to some of the more popular podcasts to get a feel for their style and content. A good place to start is iTunes. Once you have a got a idea of what a good podcast should be , you can focus on hardware
- Make your Podcast entertaining that people want to listen to it. No one wants to hear silences, disturbances in a podcast, or the sound of someone crying. Preparing an effective podcast is like preparing a good speech: you need to first understand your audience, then present your content in a way they can relate to. Writing an outline is an effective way to avoid any awkward silences, it will also help you to formulate your ideas into a strong presentation.
