How to Record Your Podcast:
When recording a Podcast some technical glitches can make your podcast ruin an otherwise you can make a perfect podcast. So before recording
your podcast record few sample recordings to test the software, adjust volume levels and to make sure that everything is fine. You must set the sample rates for your recording. If you are using Audacity for example, click File > Preferences, then click the Quality tab. If you’re just recording voice, anything higher than 44.1KHz and 16-bit sampling is overkill for most noncommercial purposes. If your podcast is heavily into music factors, however, consider higher rates, but the resulting file will be larger. If you like to incorporate sound effects in your podcast you can do that. To import sound effects or intro and outro music with Audacity, you need to first record your podcast, then locate the audio on your computer’s hard drive, and finally bring the audio into the program by clicking on the “import audio” tab in the project menu. Many people also like to incorporate sound effects into their podcasts. If you want to import sound effects or intro and outro music with Audacity, you need to first record your podcast, then locate the audio on your computer’s hard drive, and finally bring the audio into the program by clicking on the “import audio” tab in the project menu. In Propaganda or ePodcast Producer, you can add music, sound effects, and other audio into your podcast in real time.
Edit your Podcast:
After you’ve recorded your Podcast, you might notice some parts that you’d like to remove, like some mistakes or long stretches of silence that you’d like to clean up. It’s easy to edit your sound file Whether you are using Audacity, Propaganda, or ePodcast Producer, , it works the same way in both programs.
To find stretches of silence, just look for areas in the voice track where the waveform becomes an almost straight line. Now take your cursor and highlight the region that you want to remove after that verify that the section you have highlighted is the one you want to remove, you can verify it by hitting play and listen to it. After the verification you think this is the file you want to delete press Delete.
Now again listen to that portion of trackt to make sure that the deletion hasn’t caused any clicks or other undesirable effects. If you think it has caused any undesirable effects you can undo the edit and try again.
The next step in editing is to combine your tracks into a final mix. To mix your podcast in Audacity, choose Project > Quick Mix. This combines everything you’ve recorded into a single stereo track. Now save mix as an uncompressed WAV or AIFF file (either one will work). That will give you a “master” file to work from and a backup in case you have a problem exporting to MP3.Now the last step take your final mix and convert it into an MP3 file — the standard format of all podcasts. To do this, open your final mix in your recording software, and export the file as an MP3. To do this in Audacity, you simply choose File -> export as MP3. You will be prompted to name the file, and pick a location to save it on your computer.
Publish & Test your Podcast:
The next step is to move the file off of your computer and find a place to host it on the Internet. If you have your own Website and access to an FTP server, just create a new folder and upload your MP3. If you don’t have an FTP server, you’ll need to find a site that will host your podcast. Ourmedia.org it’s free and doesnot limit file bandwith, you can try this but it removes the content if it seems inappropriate. There are also some sites which will host your Podcast for a monthly fees, but if your download becomes famous and many people download your podcast, you have to pay some additional charges for data transfer limits. You can also put your podcasts on iTunes. In order to do this, visit the iTunes Music Store customer service page, and follow the instructions for adding a podcast to the catalog.
Once you’ve got your file hosted, you can use RSS to allow users to subscribe to a regular download of your podcast. Creating and uploading an RSS feed is a simple string of text that allows you to announce your podcast to the internet world and a link to the corresponding MP3.You can create this file in a number of ways. If you know XML you can do it yourself or by using the generator available to Ourmedia users, you can also use the free podcast RSS-feed generator
Before you put your Podcast, use an RSS validation service to test the syntax of your RSS feed. If it reports an error, you’ll have to go back into the RSS file, correct it, and upload it again.
After you have tested RSS feed and if it is working right, you can publish. Now take the RSS link, share it with friends, and begin spreading your Podcast to larger audiences by submitting your link to podcast directories such as iPodder.org and promoting it on sites such as Podcast Directory.

[…] Publishing: iTunes iTunes can be used as by means of publishing, as we have tried to use it to publish our podcasts. However, we also found out that you need a membership which requires payment. Therefore, we couldn’t have access to this. It seems to be easy if you do have a membership however, because there is a link in iTunes that goes directly to podcast, and then there is a link that says ‘import’ on the file drop down. “In order to do this, visit the iTunes Music Store customer service page, and follow the instructions for adding a podcast to the catalog.” (http://101.findexcellent.com/26/record-edit-publish-and-test-your-podcast/) […]

[…] Third Step iTunes Basically, the first step of publishing a podcast is to record your audio in some kind of program. The best one I would like to recommend is to record it in ‘audacity’ program. Once your done, go to iTunes. You need a membership if you want to upload a podcast. However, it requires payment. Then you can link from iTunes directly to podcast as an import file. Next, go to music store for customer service page. Follow the instructions for adding a podcast to the catalogue. <http://101.findexcellent.com/26/record-edit-publish-and-let-your-podcast> […]
