When you start your computer some optional windows applications like yahoo messenger, msn, windows media player, and many other auto startup programs run automatically. By using this tip you can disable some optional windows applications that starts automatically when your computer starts and make the startup time of windows XP and Vista less.
To disable the windows auto run applications follow the given steps below :
- First login to your computer as a computer administrator than click start button and than click on Run option and type msconfig and click OK.
- Now a system Configuration Utility box will appear on your computer with options like General, SYSTEM.INI, WIN.INI, BOOT.INI, Services, Startup, Tools.
- Now click on Startup tab and uncheck the applications that you don’t want to run automatically when your computer starts.
- After unchecking the applications click on Apply button to apply the changes and then OK button to end the configuration process. After this process restart your computer to get into effect.
