A quick tip to minimize and maximize all your active windows programs. Generally most of the PC users do all these by using their mouse, but if you want to do this with your keyboard then simply press Windows key+M to minimize all active programs and later to maximize it press Windows key+Shift+M.

If you want to minimize the all active windows programs one by one then use the shortcut  by pressing  Alt+Space+N keys and to maximize the active windows programs one by one then use the shortcut by pressing  Alt+Space+X keys.

When you are writing about any specific topic in Microsoft Word some of the important points or list of items you want to show are presented in the documents in a way by applying default bullets and numbering. But by default, MS- Word provides only few built-in bullets and numbers to show your important points. But if you want to use your name or any other word as a bullet then you can do that by modifying the default bullets lists.

Below are the steps to modify the default bullets with your favorite name:

First click on Start button, go to All Programs –> MS Office then click on Microsoft Word to run the word page.

Now go to File menu and click on Open option to open any word file then go to Format menu and click on Bullets and Numbering option.

Now you will see a small dialog will appear with the title “Bullets and Numbering“, now click on one of the number formats that you are not using in the document and click on Customize button.

In the number format box, type your favorite text and click OK.

(In this case, we are using Imp, Yahoo and Nick as bullets, you can set a different font of your choice if you like ). You can enter 30 characters in the box which should be sufficient for most of the uses to which this is likely to be put. So use this tip and put your favorite text as bullet.

For this trick you need some knowledge to edit the windows control panel settings, if you know this then you can do it very easily and next time you can reverse these changes same as you done.

Follow the below steps to display the name in windows task bar:

First log into your computer with administrative rights, than click on windows Start button and than click on Control Panel option.Now here double click on “Regional and Language Options” to edit the Regional default settings.

Now click on Customize button under the “Standard and formats” area, here a new window will open with “Customize Regional Options”. Select “Time” tab on the “Customize Regional Options” dialog box.

Now go to “AM symbol” & “PM symbol” and type the name that you want to display in windows task bar and click on Apply button to affect these settings.

  • To increase or decrease your font size and color of web page in internet explorer, first click on the Tools option from the top menu of your internet explorer and go to the Internet options.
  • Now go the General option and then click on Accessibility button on right lower of the dialog box and now change the status of check box marked “Ignore font sizes specified on Web pages” and also change the status of check box marked “Ignore Colors specified on Web pages” and click on OK button.
  • Now to change the font size click on View option from the top menu of your internet explorer and then go to Text Size option to change it

Tip on how to Enable or Disable Windows Task Manager

Well as a computer savvy you might know what is a Windows Task Manager. If you don’t know i will tell you what is a task manager. Task manager is used to view the status of windows running applications, active processes, networking activities, system performance and active user history. Task manager can be managed by a system administrator, he can manage all the features of windows task manager for example as a system administrator you can stop any running applications or set the priority of any running process according to its importance. Windows Task Manager status is enabled by default, but as a user you can disable or enable it manually.

Now comes to the hacking problem sometimes a windows registry hack applies and your Windows Task Manager will be hacked and disable it and when you try to manage your Windows Task manager your system gives you a message “Task manager has been disabled by your administrator”. Now you can manage this registry hack with editing the system registry keys or using Group Policy Editor. So before proceeding further, first scan your system with your up-to-date anti virus software and than follow the given steps below to enable the task manager using Group Policy Editor.

So now to enable this feature first login to your computer as a system administrator and click start button now click on Run option and type Gpedit.msc and press OK button.

In the Group Policy Editor, under the User Configuration option expand the Administrative Templates >> System than click on Ctrl+Alt+Del Options. Now double click on “Remove Task Manager” option under Ctrl+Alt+Del Options folder, now you can see a windows dialog box will appear with title “Remove Task Manager Properties“.

How To Protect Your Windows XP PC By Password ?

To password-protect your Windows XP PC you have to follow the below steps:

  • First click on Start/Control Panel/User Accounts. Now click on the name of the account you want to protect by password. Now click on Create a password. Make sure that you assign a password to the Asministration account, which controls all the critical settings of your computer.

  • Always enter a secure password, make sure that your password have uppercase and lowercase letters, numericals and symbols and use at least 8 characters. In the below type password hint, such as ” What is your date of birth?”, this will help you to recover it when you forget your password.

  • Now if you want your PC prompt you for password when computer resumes from standby than open Power Options in Control Panel and Click on the Advanced tab and check the box next to ‘prompt for password when computer resumes from standby’.

  • Now to password-protect your screen saver, open Display in Control Panel and click on the Screen Saver tab and check the box next to ‘On resume, password protect’ and click OK.

  • If you like to make your folder private, right click on it and select Sharing and Security, now under the Sharing tab, click on the radio button next to Do not share this folder or Make this folder private and click OK.
  • Windows XP Professional users can encrypt files and folders for added security. Now to encrypt a folder, right click on it and select Properties and click Advanced and check the box next to ‘Encrypt contents to secure data’.

How to install new fonts in your PC ?
Now first thing you have to make sure before adding new fonts to your PC is to see that it is designed for Windows.

Now follow the instructions as given in below:

First login to your computer with administrative rights and than click on start button and click on Run option and type %windir%\fonts and press OK button.

Now go to File menu and click on Install New Font option, in the drives box select the drives that contains new fonts ( hard drive, CD-drive or Floppy drive ). If you want to install from the network location, than there is a button called Network click on that.

Now select the new fonts and check the option ‘Copy fonts to Fonts folder‘ and press OK button.

For removing fonts in your PC follow the following instructions:

First login to your computer with administrative rights and than click on start button and click on Run option and type %windir%\fonts and press OK button.

Now select the font that you want to remove and press Ctrl key on the keyboard to select more than one font. Now go to File menu and click on Delete option. You will see aprompt ‘Are you sure you want to delete these fonts?‘, press OK button for the process to finish.
